About Hope:

The long and short of it for now is that my husband of nearly 16 years and I live in Hattiesburg, Mississippi with our four sons and Martin, the family dog. David, my husband, is a writer and the publisher of a group of newspapers in and around Hattiesburg. I’m a stay-at-home mom, but on any given day I’m also a self-taught guidance counselor, wardrobe consultant, conflict resolution specialist, nurse, janitor, tailor, cobbler, interior designer, gardener, classroom mom, taxi driver, PTO volunteer and cook.

If you do the math, you’ll see that I share a house with four boys and my husband. That’s five human males (not including Martin the Dog), leaving me “outnumbered 5-to-1.” Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to be queen - at least most of the time.

Then there are the days when it feels a bit more like being Cinderella - prior to her introduction to Prince Charming. Let’s just say I spend a lot of time cleaning the concrete tile floors surrounding our three toilets, if you know what I mean.  If nothing else, my boys keep me humble.

Who says God doesn’t have a sense of humor?

When I’m not doing mom sorts of things I love to spend time crafting.  Scrapbooking/paper crafting is my first love but I like to dabble in a bit of everything.  From sewing to crocheting to photography — I love the creative process and sharing ideas with other crafters.  I find inspiration in a million different places, but at the core of all of it is my family.  I truly feel like it’s a piece of me, an expression of my love for them.

Thanks for stopping by….
